Pray For MH370

Sticky post. Scroll down for new ones.

Malaysia was struck with a horrifying news, an aircraft was lost in thin air.

Many speculations were spread of what had happened to the plane. All of which were inconclusive because there are no hard evidence that can be found.

All we can do is to pray that the flight will be found or better yet, to return safely.

May Allah forgive our wrong doings and remove the obstacle that has been prevented us to see the whereabouts of the plane.

Ameen...

New Gadget

Salam and good day everyone...

The other day, I browsed on the internet for a new camera. My family said it's cheap to buy here in UK. Plus, after the All England finals, I wanted a camera with a magnificent zoom and can take nice pictures/video in the dark. I didn't get good pictures then.

I was thinking of my next events and trips, so I thought of buying a camera to capture all those coming memories....hihi..

So my bestie and I went to Oxford street to go to Currys PC World. Previously we browsed on the net and found two choices of cameras and they're very cheap there.

This is what I bought...jeng jeng jeng....

I was actually torn between this camera and Olympus SZ16. But in the end, I bought this one, because overall, this camera is better (so they say). I haven't used it as much, so I can't review. This camera has 18X optical zoom, HD video (which I don't like), wifi, touch screen, etc etc....

This camera is included with one 32GB memory card and 500GB Knowhow Cloud Storage Sysytem. I also paid extra 30 pounds for the instant replacement plan where you can just walk in any Currys store and exchange the camera that you bought with a new one. You can also exchange with any other items for three years. So if within that 3 years, I can change this camera many times.  huhu....cool right? It's even better than warranty. So total I paid around 188 pounds.

After that we went to Sports Direct because they were having a closing down sale. I bought this original Karrimor bag pack which considered as very cheap! (according to my friend..=P)

That's all for now...

Until next time...http://eemoticons.net

1st Day @ Malaga

Salam and good day everyone!

This is a continuation from Hola Espana! =D

The first day of our Spain trip was in Malaga. We arrived in Malaga around 9pm.

The weather in Malaga is not as cold as in UK. But it is still quite windy.

This is the bus that we took from the airport to our accommodation. The only bus. We actualy didn't know where to go. I googled earlier, but the name of the street is confusing, and the driver doesn't speak a lot of english. In fact, most of them are like that. Luckily, there's wifi in the bus, so we can google while sitting on the bus, so that i will know where to stop.

We stayed at Feel Hostel (I looked it up online). It's located at Calle (street) Vendeja. This is what our hostel looked like:

It's a 6 bed dorm with shared toilet. The review of this place was quite good online, but it wasn't that good for my taste. The internet said that the dorm with shared toilet that I booked will be for female only, but the room right next to ours has male in them. So we had to share the toilet with guys!

This toilet can't even be locked! So we need a look out if someone wanted to use the toilet. Luckily there's another bathroom nearby that's even more cozy. But we need to take turns to use that one.

After settling in, we hunt out for some food. We were starving. Our hostel is located in the city center. Just a few minutes walking, there's plenty of stores to choose from. We found one that's halal and nearby!

It was by far the best wrap that I have ever tasted! I felt like going back there just to get another taste. After our dinner, we went for a walk for sightseeing.

Malaga is located near the shore of southern Spain. So there's a coast near the city.

At night, the hostel held Jazz concert for us to enjoy. We sat in for a few minutes, then went back to our beds due to the excessive tiredness.(-_-")

Photoshoot while/after packing is a must! =D

The room includes breakfast. We were served with bread together with jam, marmalade etc. Juice, free coffee, cuppacino, cocoa machine and cereal. It was kind of nice for €2. The total cost for the room is €13 per person. I wouldn't recommend it though if you're thinking of staying for 2 nights. It's not very comfortable, there are noises from the street and the bar downstairs, the heater is too small, so we were freezing at night (even though there's thick blankets).

Afterwards, we walked to go to the bus station for our next destination: Seville.

Maria Zambrano Bus Station

Inside the station

This is the bus that we took. Most intercity buses are from this particular company; ALSA. We bought the luxury express by mistake. So it costs €22 each, but we were given goody bags filled with mineral water, some snacks and a headphone. The bus equipped with wifi, radio and television for our entertainment throughout the journey.

After this is....SEVILLE!!

Lunch at Giraffe

Last Monday, it was my first time going to the lab at UCL Institute of Children's Health, where I will be doing my research for the next 6 months.

It was a short briefing of what we will be doing and a simple tour of the place. After the briefing, I went for lunch at a nearby shopping complex with a classmate who's with the same supervisor.

I thought of having something simple only, but then she suggested that we ate at Giraffe Restaurant and I didn't object. =P

I ordered Phod Malay Noodle and Fresh Lemonade Mint drink. There's plenty of vegetarian food that you can choose from. They also sell brunch until 4pm. This is what my food looks like:

Looks very nice doesn't it? hehu~

While waiting for my food, I noticed this...

Lingham's Chilli Sauce!!! Usually I can find this at oriental shops, I didn't expect to see it here...=P

The restaurant is located at Brunswick Shopping complex which is located just in front of Russel Square tube station.

All England 2014 FINALS!

Assalamu'alaikum and a good day readers!

Last weekend, I went to Birmingham with my bestie to watch the All England Badminton Finals!!!

We were so excited for this trip. We had bought the tix a month in advance. Especially that this trip was right after our final exam, so it was like a celebration for completing the exam (eventhough i didn't do very well..wuwuwuwu..)

We took a 1am bus, because we missed our 5pm bus (the one that we bought earlier), and arrived at Birmingham around 4am. At first I thought we were going to stop at a proper bus stop so that we can perform our Subuh prayer and can just wait until the train is up and about. But, the bus stop is just a crummy pole, at the side of the road!!

So my brilliant mind came to work, to look around for a proper place to sit and wait. But at this hour, the drunks are everywhere..so you can imagine how terrified we were being two gals in the city at that hour. Then, my friend suggested that we just go to the house that we're staying. It was quite far from the city, so we took a cab.

The cab stopped in front of us without us having to hail it (maybe he saw our worried face). The driver is a Muslim btw...our knight in shining armor......

It took about 15 minutes drive to go to the house. Then...something else happenned. My bestie tried calling her friend for so many times but no one answered. We assumed she must've left her phone in silent mode. During this time, the cab waited! He was worried to left us alone outside. huhuhu...

After some time, we just told the cab to go, it wasn't fair for him to wait for so long. Tired of waiting, I searched for a nearby mosque, luckily there's one located 18 minutes walking distance. So we walked, saw a few drunks flipping over the trash bins, we just avoided shady alleys and people. We only knew the next morning that there were a robbery case a few days ago. Alhamdulillah, nothing happened to us.

We finally arrived at the mosque, it was locked. At that time, it was almost 5am. Subuh is around 4.40am, supposedly the Imam should've opened the mosque by now.

The imam's house was just at the back of the mosque (luckily), so we knocked (after waited until 5am) and asked him to open the mosque for us. After our prayer, our friend called...maybe she woke up for her prayer and saw the many missed calls. (-_-")

This is our friends' house.

The All England match start at 11.30am, so we snoozed for a while before going to the stadium. The match was held at the National Indoor Arena (NIA), Birmingham. From our friend's house, we had to walk a bit to the train station (Selly Oak) and took a train to New Street. It costs 2.20 GBP for a round trip.

At New Street, we met up with some friends from Sheffield who's going to the game as well.

This building kind of looks like Pertama complex..=P

We passed by some amazing scenery including this library. It was told to be the second most expensive library ever build in Europe.

The building on the left is the library. It is the most expensive library ever build in Europe.

At the NIA, we met with a lot of Malaysian that came to support our National Hero, Dato' Lee Chong Wei.

Recognize the one in the middle?

That's Awal Ashaari, our local celebrity and his wife who were also among the supporters.

Our tix!

We rushed to get to our seats. Sadly, our seat were located at the very top of the stadium. It was great for live viewing, but not for taking pictures. Most of the people in that stadium were Malaysians or Malaysian supporters. You can tell when it is time for LCW match against Chen Long from China. The energy in the NIA shifted from soft to ecstatic.

LCW won by 21-13, 21-18. It was one of the best experiences in my life...to see his last performance in All England.

Congratulations Dato' LCW!

We had the chance to be in Astro Arena, congratulating LCW, but I couldn't find the video...huhu..

We didn't wait until the game finishes. There's one more mixed double match at the end, but we didn't stay because we were starving. Before we hunt for food, a must have photoshoot...hihi...

After the game..we went around the city to grab some food. We found this All you can eat joint for only 5pounds!!

After stuffing our faces, we went for a walk. Our Sheffield friends will be returning at 10.55pm. Around 8, we went home..and collapse. =P

The next day, before going back to London, we followed our friends to their university. It's very near to their house, just 20 minutes walking distance.

This is their school...=)

After sending them to class, we have our photoshoot...

The arrow points at Big Joe. If London have Big Ben, University of Birmingham have Big Joe...haha..

This is NOT Big Joe..=P

We took a train here to go back to the Bus stop.

see you later Birmingham!!!

Thank you to our hostess for such a hospitable treatment while we were in Birmingham. We will come again, surely! =D
